“The Logicom Cyprus Marathon will be run in Pafos for the 19th consecutive year on Sunday 5th March 2017. Pafos, the “European Capital of Culture 2017”, is a fascinating and friendly city and is located on the beautiful west coast of Cyprus. The event incorporates four different distances; the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10 km and a 5 km Fun Run. Logicom Cyprus Marathon has gained a reputation as the most friendly and well organised event of its kind with excellent facilities for runners and on site entertainment for family and friends. Our avowed intention is that all runners will enjoy a safe and professionally organised event, and that the social aspect of athletics is fostered between all competitors and organisers”.

“Our mission is to provide an annual race where runners from other nations, and from here in Cyprus, unite via competition towards a common goal: that of the true athletic spirit and without barriers of race, colour or religion. We have developed a high quality event with the help of our generous sponsors and we are working tirelessly to make Logicom Cyprus Marathon one of the most popular events in the worldwide running calendar. As the numbers of the participants grow, we have designed a post-race offering that will allow participants to relax at Pafos Mediaeval Fort Square, to be entertained and to enjoy the traditional Mediterranean hospitality”.

“I am originally a project manager from London where in my spare time I helped as a coach, committee member, team manager and UKA qualified official at local athletics clubs for some 20 years. For seven years I have assisted London Marathon on race day as a Sector Manager looking after 3km of the course including a hundred volunteers, First Aid posts, plus liaising with Police and the Local Authorities.
We pride ourselves here in Paphos for organising a unique and friendly marathon weekend. We have a fabulous team of volunteers preparing runner’s bags, setting out the course, manning drinks stations and marshalling at checkpoint for all the races.”

“As the Secretary of the ‘Stelios Kyriakides’ Running Club and a keen runner, running has brought me so much throughout my life, great friends and fitness.

The last two years I have been involved with the organisation of the Logicom Cyprus Marathon which is dedicated to the memory of the legendary Marathon runner Stelios Kyriakides who won the Boston Marathon in 1946, with the aim of raising money to provide food and shelter to the Greeks, who were experiencing severe poverty issues from the Second World War. The Marathon overall winners are presented with gilded olive wreaths by his son Dimitris Kyriakides. The event has a reputation of a warm, friendly, outstanding atmosphere and excellent organisation, and we hope you’ll come and experience it for yourself”.

See you in Pafos!
