The Logicom Cyprus Marathon’s growth has been very rapid especially over the period of the last 3 years. This has been done having the runner as the focal point of all initiatives for the race and route enhancements. All the members of the organizing team of the Logicom Cyprus Marathon have run a Marathon, which indicates that they have the experience of how the runner feels and are in a better position to satisfy the runner’s needs!
The Logicom Cyprus Marathon offers an attractive package of products and services to all participating runners. This has been enriched with a free technical t-shirt, high quality finisher’s medal, chip timing, HIGH5 energy gels, fruit at the course and the finish line, electrolytes, AGROS mineral water and sponges every 3 kilometers, free finish line massage, ample quantities of Carlsberg beer and many more! The “all inclusive” package that is being offered at the Logicom Cyprus Marathon has proved very popular which is why there has been a 75% increase in participation each year in 2015 and 2016!
The Marathon organizing committee will continue its efforts for improvement so as to deliver an even better edition of the Logicom Cyprus Marathon on the 5th of March 2017. Pafos, as the host city of the 19th Logicom Cyprus Marathon, will be the center of attention for all Europe since it will be the 2017 European Capital of Culture.
Saucony in cooperation with Dromea Racing Running Club and the organizing committee of the 19th Logicom Cyprus Marathon will introduce for the first time in Cyprus a pace team! Everyone who is running the Half-Marathon and would like to beat their personal best there will be 3 pacers to help them. There will be three options which include those runners looking to run a Half Marathon in 1:30 hours, 1:45 hours and under 2:00 hours. The three pacers will be provided by the Dromea Racing Running Club and will lead the runers with their favorite Saucony running kits and shoes!
Added to that, the 2017 organization encourages teams, companies and running clubs to take part and have healthy competition amongst them. Up to now the team competition prizes were only for the Marathon race but in 2017 it will include team awards for both the Half-Marathon and the 10km Road Race. Teams with four or more runners will automatically be entered in the team competition (first four runners to count). A trophy will be awarded to the first Team in both races. A number of few more additions and innovations will be added to the event with some of them being kept as a surprise for the day!
